Just Another Struggling Writer

The lamentations of yet another person struggling to write a novel.

Monday Motivations; It’s Gonna Be…

Hello everyone and welcome to another wily week of writing.

I am pleased to be back after some high anxiety (even for me) completely derailed me last week. Thanks universe!

But there’s no use crying over spilled mental illness. Today, it’s back in the saddle. After all, it’s not just a new week but a new month, and that means an extra dose of motivation for me on this fine Monday morning. Er. Afternoon. In fact, I’ve got a whole list of things I want to accomplish this week.

Blogs

I keep saying I want to blog every day, and I do! But I need to account for those days when I get really busy at work or have a sudden parental obligation to take care of that precludes me from writing up a blog post. To do that, I need to pre-write some posts. I just… need to carve out the time. Woe.

Reading

I’d like to get out ahead of my reading this week as well. I fell really behind in April, thanks to a string of bad luck with my reads and schedule. Thankfully, my current read is on the shorter side, so I am hoping to finish it before Friday. I’m also doing my best to plow through my latest audio book as well. I struggle with audio so I don’t know that I’ll be finished this week, but if I make significant headway I’ll call that a win.

Oh, Yeah, and Writing

Am I still a writer? Sometimes, I’m not sure. Anyway, I’ve got two writing projects that need my attention this week. I’d like to do some more notecard brainstorming for my WIP, but I also need to start getting back in touch with the last manuscript I started for Scribd back in November. I’m planning on picking it up again but after six months, I need a refresher.

And, as always, a reminder that I need to make sure I save some time every day just for me. Time that has nothing to do with writing. Even just half an hour a day that I don’t force myself to multitask.

Until next time, friends. May your writing be plenty and your struggles be few.

About Me

Kerry Share’s love for writing started, as it so often does, as a love of reading at an early age. At age 11 she wrote her first short story, a Harry Potter knockoff of dubious quality, and her love for creative expression was born. Throughout her teen years she continued to foster that passion through derivative work, and at 23 she turned her eye to original fiction.

Now in her thirties, having taken a break from creative endeavors to cope with an ever changing life and landscape, she is determined to make her dream of a writing career reality.
