Just Another Struggling Writer

The lamentations of yet another person struggling to write a novel.

Monday Motivations; Life Interrupting

Hello friends and welcome to another whirlwind week of writing.

I come to you this Monday, my friends, completely disconnected from writing. After struggling with some mood related writer’s block late last week, the weekend arrived and with it a tempest of personal events. I won’t go into the details, save to say everything is all good, but writing was definitely the furthest thing from my mind.

As with most Mondays, however, I am doing my best to get back on track. As of this writing around noon, that endeavor hasn’t been going spectacularly. I just keep thinking about the things from the weekend.

It’s been a good reminder that even if I were to get my mental health squared away, it’s just not going to be possible to account for everything that may pull me away from my writing. But also, I don’t need to feel guilty about that. The things that happened this weekend were definitely more deserving of my attention than my WIP, and it doesn’t make me a bad writer to say so.

Of course, I need to climb back on the wagon and that’s never a simple feat. But nor does it have to be tortured. Life gets in the way sometimes. And that’s okay.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have some words to attend to.

Until next time, friends, may your writing be plenty and your struggles be few.

About Me

Kerry Share’s love for writing started, as it so often does, as a love of reading at an early age. At age 11 she wrote her first short story, a Harry Potter knockoff of dubious quality, and her love for creative expression was born. Throughout her teen years she continued to foster that passion through derivative work, and at 23 she turned her eye to original fiction.

Now in her thirties, having taken a break from creative endeavors to cope with an ever changing life and landscape, she is determined to make her dream of a writing career reality.
